Sarin A. Barsoumian, CFP®, CRPC®
Founder & LPL Financial Advisor
After earning her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Boston University, Sarin started her career as a Financial Advisor with Ameriprise Financial. Frustrated with the struggle between what management wanted her to do and what was in the best interest of her clients, Sarin decided to go independent and join LPL Financial in 2009. This transition allowed her to serve as a trusted advisor who clients can turn to for objective guidance and advice. As an independent advisor, Sarin could put her clients and their needs first.
Since 2005, Sarin has been helping clients define and pursue their financial goals. She believes that the most effective way to make a true impact on her clients' finances is to build long-term relationships. A cornerstone of the SMB Client Service model is open communication based on objectivity and trust. Sarin's consultative approach encourages her clients to be an active participant in the financial planning process, to build on their experience and judgement, and supply them with the knowledge they need to make important, informed decisions.
Contributing to the Women in Finance movement - not just financial literacy and advocacy, but also encouraging more women to join the male dominated industry is a cause that Sarin is very passionate about. She has partnered with LPL's Diversity & Inclusion team as well as her alma mater, Boston University, to work on different initiatives with this goal in mind.
Out of the office, Sarin and her husband, Albert, are busy keeping up with their sons, Samuel and Christian. As a family, they enjoy traveling, biking and dance parties.
Lumina Gershfield Cordova
LPL Financial Advisor, Marketing
Over the course of my 26 year career, I’ve worked as a professor/teacher in the US and Asia, in Montessori classrooms, and as the Founder of an Online Education and Wellness company incubated at Harvard Innovation Labs. In 2021, I joined SMB Financial Strategies to increase client service capacity and marketing.
I hold a Series 7 license and Series 66 license with LPL Financial. The Series 7 license allows the holder to sell almost all individual securities, including common and preferred stocks, call and put options, bonds, and other fixed income. The Series 66 license allows the holder to offer advice and strategy on which securities to buy sell or hold for an optimized and specialized investment portfolio.
My approach to working at SMB is largely inspired by my experience as a teacher of students from every age, which you’ll find reflected in my focus on education, deep listening, growth mindset, Behavioral Finance, and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging. As a trained trauma-informed Yoga and Meditation teacher, I also love to infuse financial discussions with elements of mindfulness to increase wellbeing, since money can be an emotional and sometimes stressful topic. I aim to help clients work toward finding financial wellness.
My Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art is from Brigham Young University. I have a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from Boston University, a Real Estate/Realtor license and a Certificate in Metaverse, NFT and Web3 from Everyrealm Academy. My Master's Degree is in Education from Portland State University.
I am married to my Cuban/Peruvian husband Rene and we have two beautiful children, our son, Georgio, and daughter, Shalom. We live in the heart of Somerville, MA, love to make art, dance to Latin music, play soccer and debate about whether our first pet will be a cat or a dog. Thus far, it’s two for cat and two for dog! What's your vote?

Client Service Associate
I am thrilled to be the friendly face you see when you walk into the SMB office!
Prior to joining SMB Financial Strategies, LLC, I worked as an Office Manager for a pest control company where I was responsible for day-to-day operations, the schedule of 7 technicians and servicing a data base of 20,000 clients. But my favorite part of the job was the client interactions. I truly enjoy meeting people and learning about different backgrounds!
I graduated from University of Massachusetts Boston with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I worked as a full-time nanny while completing my degree and loved every minute of it!
When I’m not at work, I am spending time with my family and friends, and our dog Penny. I am a lover of traveling, King Charles Cavaliers Spaniels, and makeup artistry.
